Mondelēz Global LLC has expanded its voluntary recall of Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookie products due to a manufacturing defect that poses a potential choking hazard, particularly for young children and elderly consumers.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recall expansion, announced on December 30, 2025, affects multiple package sizes of Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookie with specific “Best When Used By” dates in May 2026. The affected products include:
- 22.4 oz Caddie (8-count) packages with dates May 9-12, 2026
- 2.8 oz individual pouches with dates May 9-12, 2026
- 7.0 oz packages (5-count) with dates May 10, 12, and 18, 2026
- 1.4 oz individual pouches with dates May 10, 12, and 18, 2026
This expansion follows an initial recall issued on December 24, 2025, and now includes one additional code date and two additional product codes.
Why Were These Products Recalled?
An incorrect mixing process during manufacturing resulted in the formation of small corn starch clumps in the product. Due to the size and characteristics of these clumps, they could constitute a choking hazard, especially for vulnerable populations including young children and the elderly.
No other Chips Ahoy! products or Mondelēz Global LLC products are affected by this recall. The recall is limited to these specific Baked Bites Brookie products sold at a limited number of retail stores nationwide.
What Should You Do?
The recall was announced on December 30, 2025, and published by the FDA on February 4, 2026. If you have Chips Ahoy! Baked Bites Brookie products with the affected “Best When Used By” dates listed above, do not consume them.
