The recall affects Tippy Toes Apple Pear Banana Fruit puree sold in plastic tubs by Initiative Foods. Parents should check the “Best By” date stamped on the bottom of each plastic tub for “BB 07/17/2026” and look for the packaging code “INIA0120.”
The product was distributed nationwide, making this a serious concern for parents across all 50 states. No illnesses have been reported to date from consuming this product.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
Federal testing revealed elevated levels of patulin in the baby food. Patulin is a toxin produced by molds, especially in fruits like apples. Prolonged exposure to this toxin can lead to serious health risks.
