Savannah Bee Company has issued a nationwide recall of its Honey BBQ Sauce-Mustard after discovering that some bottles were mislabeled and may actually contain a different product—Honey BBQ Sauce-Sweet—which includes wheat and soy that are not listed on the mustard variety label. The recall covers products distributed to retail stores, distribution centers, and directly to consumers nationwide. No illnesses have been reported at this time.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recalled product is Savannah Bee Company Honey BBQ Sauce-Mustard, 16 fl. oz., sold in clear glass bottles with an orange label. Only the single batch with batch code B1L1360525 and a Best Before date of 05/16/27 is affected. The batch code and Best Before date are etched on the neck of the bottle. The UPC for the affected product is 8 50033 93758 9. The mislabeled bottles were shipped nationwide to distribution centers, retail stores, and consumers between July 30, 2025, and February 26, 2026.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The recall was triggered after a customer notified Savannah Bee Company that bottles labeled as Honey BBQ Sauce-Mustard appeared to contain Honey BBQ Sauce-Sweet instead. An internal investigation confirmed the mislabeling and determined that the Sweet variety—which was inadvertently packaged inside the Mustard label—contains wheat and soy. Because these allergens do not appear in the ingredient list on the Mustard label, consumers with wheat or soy allergies have no way of knowing the product contains them. The FDA has warned that people with an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat or soy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the mislabeled product.
