Gear Isle of West Sacramento, California, has voluntarily recalled two chocolate products marketed as sexual enhancement supplements after FDA testing found they secretly contain sildenafil and tadalafil — the prescription ingredients found in Viagra and Cialis. Neither was declared anywhere on the labels. The recall was announced March 19, 2026, and applies to all units sold nationwide via internet sales. Gold Lion Aphrodisiac Chocolate Male Enhancement Sachet, 1-count, UPC 795847916279, expiration June 2027. No lot number is listed on the packaging.
ilum Sex Chocolate Male Sexual Enhancement Booster, 1-count, UPC 1002448578911, expiration December 25, 2027. No lot number is listed on the packaging.
Both products were marketed as dietary supplements and sold as single-serve chocolate packets through internet sales nationwide. Since neither product carries a lot number, the entire available inventory of both products is subject to recall.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
FDA analysis confirmed that both products contain sildenafil — the active ingredient in Viagra — and tadalafil — the active ingredient in Cialis — neither of which was disclosed on the product labels. Both are FDA-approved prescription drugs for erectile dysfunction. These drugs cannot legally be included in dietary supplements or food products. When unknowingly consumed alongside nitrate-based medications — such as nitroglycerin — the combination can cause a sudden, life-threatening drop in blood pressure. Men with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease are at particular risk, as these conditions are frequently treated with nitrates. Additionally, because these products are sold as chocolate, unsuspecting partners or other household members could consume them without any knowledge of the drug content.
