What’s Being Recalled?
The recalled product is Vital Nutrients Aller-C, a dietary supplement packaged in white plastic bottles containing either 100 or 200 capsules. Only two specific lots are affected: lot numbers 25E04-A and 25E04-B, both with an expiration date of May 2027. The UPC codes for affected products are 693465524114 (100-count), 693465000083 (100-count), and 693465524213 (200-count). The products were distributed nationwide through VitalNutrients.co and other online retailers, including Walmart and Amazon. Check the lot number printed on your bottle to determine if it is included in this recall.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
Blueroot Health discovered the issue through its own routine internal quality testing and promptly reported findings to the FDA. The affected lots may contain egg, hazelnut, and soy — all major allergens recognized under federal food labeling law — that were not declared on the product label. Because Aller-C is marketed as an immune and allergy support supplement, consumers with egg, hazelnut, or soy allergies would have no reason to suspect the product contains these ingredients, making the undeclared allergens particularly dangerous. The FDA warns that people with allergies or severe sensitivity to any of these three ingredients run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product. The source of the allergen contamination has not been publicly disclosed.
