Seasonal Specialties of Minnesota has recalled approximately 2,460 Members Mark 7′ Pre-Lit Twinkling Buck outdoor Christmas decorations sold exclusively on SamsClub.com after discovering the product can overheat and produce smoke when the wires are connected incorrectly. The recall was announced April 9, 2026, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Consumers who bought the decoration last holiday season may still have it stored away — and should check whether their unit is included before plugging it in again. Seasonal Specialties has received five reports of smoke and a burning smell from the decoration. No injuries have been reported.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recalled product is the Members Mark 7′ Pre-Lit Twinkling Buck, a 7-foot outdoor lighted reindeer decoration featuring warm white LED lights and a separate control box for the lights. The model number 990404199 is printed on the cord tag near the adaptor wall plug and on the product packaging. The affected units were sold exclusively on SamsClub.com from August 2025 through December 2025 for approximately $170.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The outdoor twinkling buck decoration can overheat when the product’s wires are connected incorrectly during setup. Improper wire connections allow the unit to draw more electrical load than designed, causing the component to overheat. Five customers have already reported smoke and a burning smell during use. Overheating electrical decorations pose a fire and burn hazard — particularly dangerous in outdoor settings where the product may be near mulch, dry leaves, grass, or other flammable materials. An overheating decoration stored in a garage or shed during the off-season could also present a risk.

Stop using the recalled Members Mark 7′ Pre-Lit Twinkling Buck immediately. Contact Seasonal Specialties to choose between two remedy options: a full refund, or a free repair kit. The repair kit includes updated wire connection instructions, color-coded wire labels, and a cord tag warning sticker to prevent the wiring error from recurring. Do not use the decoration again until you have received and applied the repair kit.
