Autobrush Recalls 48,000 Sonic Pro Kids Toothbrush Boxes Over Accessible Coin Battery That Can Kill Children If Swallowed

Product Recall

Lander Enterprises LLC, doing business as Autobrush of Miami, Florida, has recalled approximately 48,000 Autobrush Sonic Pro Kids toothbrush delivery boxes after determining the boxes contain an accessible lithium coin cell battery that children can reach and swallow. The recall was announced April 23, 2026. The boxes also lack the required warning labels under Reese’s Law. No injuries have been reported.

What’s Being Recalled?

The recall affects the cardboard delivery boxes used to package the Autobrush Kids Sonic Pro electric toothbrush. The toothbrush itself is not recalled. The delivery boxes come in four character designs — Unity the Unicorn, Lenni the Lion, Harley the Hippo, and Danny the Dino. The boxes feature “autobrush KIDS” printed on the exterior along with the character name and image. A white tray inside the box contains a speaker with a coin cell battery on its underside that is accessible to children. The boxes were sold at tryautobrush.com from March 2023 through December 2025 as part of the toothbrush package, priced between $85 and $90.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

The delivery boxes violate Reese’s Law, the federal mandatory safety standard requiring coin cell batteries in consumer products to be secured in child-resistant compartments with specific warning labels. The coin cell battery in the box’s speaker does not meet these requirements — it can be accessed by young children. A swallowed coin cell battery can lodge in the throat and cause severe internal chemical burns within hours, leading to serious injury or death. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.

What Should You Do?

Immediately take the recalled delivery box away from children. Write “Recalled” on the box with a permanent marker, then photograph the marked box and email the photo to [email protected]. The toothbrush itself does not need to be returned and can continue to be used. Autobrush will provide a $5 store credit refund for the box. After submitting the photo, dispose of the box following local hazardous waste procedures — do not throw the battery in regular household trash. Contact Autobrush at 844-656-3217, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, or visit tryautobrush.com/pages/recall.
