SKS Copack of Cerritos, California, has recalled multiple lines of specialty beverage powders used to make matcha, taro, boba, milk tea, horchata, cappuccino, and other drinks after being notified that a dry milk powder ingredient may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recall was announced May 22, 2026. No illnesses have been reported. These products were distributed primarily to cafes, restaurants, and food service accounts across 25 states — not through retail stores — meaning consumers may have been served drinks made with affected powders.
What’s Being Recalled?
Eighteen specialty beverage products across five brands are included:
Angel Specialty Products: Matcha Green Tea, Taro, Caramel Latte, Coconut, Horchata, Vanilla Smoothie Base, White Chocolate, Milk Tea, and Strawberry Soft Serve powders.
Boba Time: Italian Yogurt Powder, Coconut Powder, and Pistachio Powder.
FANALE: Ube-Taro powder.
DENDA: Milk Ice Cream Mix.
Royal Gold: Dutch Mocha Cappuccino and French Vanilla Cappuccino.
Affected lot codes and best-by dates for each product are listed in the FDA’s full recall notice at fda.gov. The recalled products were distributed to California, Utah, Idaho, New York, New Jersey, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Nevada, Virginia, Connecticut, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Minnesota.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
SKS Copack was notified by its supplier that the dry milk powder used in these products is included in California Dairies, Inc.‘s recall over potential Salmonella contamination. This is the same supplier behind recalls of Ghirardelli beverage mixes, Utz chips, Aldi and Walmart frozen pizzas, Blackstone seasoning, and Kroger croutons. Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps, and can be fatal in young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. SKS Copack has quarantined remaining inventory and ceased distribution.
What Should You Do?
If you work at or own a café, restaurant, or food service operation in any of the 25 states listed, check your inventory immediately for any of the 18 affected products. Do not use or serve the recalled powders. Return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. If you are a consumer who recently purchased a drink at a café in one of these states, no specific action is required — no illnesses have been reported.
