The recall was announced June 4, 2026. No injuries have been reported. The helmets were sold exclusively on Amazon.com.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recall covers the Gudook Adult Bike Helmet, model KY-055, sold in blue with white in size medium (M), fitting head circumferences of approximately 21.3 to 22.4 inches. The helmets feature red padding, black straps, a black and red buckle, and a black fit-adjusting knob at the back. “Gudook” is printed on the side of the helmet. Only helmets with batch number 202503 and a production date of March 2025 are included — the model, batch number, and production date in MM/YYYY format are printed on a label inside the helmet. The recalled helmets were sold on Amazon.com from May 2025 through February 2026 for approximately $23.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The recalled helmets fail to comply with the federal mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets, specifically the impact attenuation and certification requirements. Impact attenuation refers to a helmet’s ability to absorb and reduce the force of an impact to the head during a crash. You will be asked to destroy the helmet by cutting the straps, then email a photo of the destroyed helmet — showing the batch number inside — to the same address. After your refund is confirmed, dispose of the helmet. Do not donate or sell the recalled helmet — federal law prohibits the sale of recalled products.
