The Coffee Connexion Co. of Tennessee is voluntarily recalling 913 cases of Alfredo sauce sold in 41 states after the FDA determined the product contains dry milk powder from California Dairies, Inc., which was recalled due to potential Salmonella contamination. The recall was classified by the FDA as Class I on June 4 — the agency’s most serious recall designation, indicating a reasonable probability that consuming the product could cause adverse health consequences or death. No illnesses have been reported. This is the ninth product recalled in the ongoing California Dairies supply chain contamination.

Why Was This Product Recalled?
The Coffee Connexion Co. Alfredo sauce contains dry milk powder sourced from California Dairies, Inc., which issued a recall of its bulk dry milk powder for potential Salmonella contamination. This is the same recall chain that has now produced nine affected products, including Ghirardelli beverage mixes, Utz Zapp’s and Dirty chips, Aldi and Walmart frozen pizzas, Blackstone Parmesan Ranch seasoning, Kroger croutons, SKS Copack café powders, and Motor City Pizza Co. cheese bread. Unlike previous products in this chain that received Class II designations, the FDA has elevated this recall to Class I — the agency’s most serious level. Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps, and can be fatal in young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.
