Spector & Co. of Quebec, Canada, has recalled approximately 7,400 Super Off-Road 12,000 mAh Solar Wireless Power Banks after the lithium-ion battery was found to swell and overheat, posing a burn hazard. The recall was announced June 25, 2026. Spector & Co. has received two reports of the battery swelling. No injuries have been reported. These power banks were never sold at retail — they were distributed as promotional items from January 2019 through December 2023, meaning anyone who received one as corporate swag, a trade show giveaway, or a branded gift may own one.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recalled product is the Super Off-Road 12,000 mAh Solar Wireless Power Bank. The device is black and measures approximately 3.4 inches wide by 6.5 inches high. It features solar charging capability and can charge devices wirelessly. The power bank bears the “Super Off-Road” brand name. There are no specific lot codes or serial numbers to check — any Super Off-Road branded 12,000 mAh solar wireless power bank is included in this recall. The units were never available for purchase at retail.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The lithium-ion battery inside the recalled power banks can swell and overheat during charging or use. A swelling lithium-ion battery can rupture and release heat intense enough to cause burns to anyone handling or near the device. In severe cases, swollen lithium-ion batteries can ignite and cause fires. Spector & Co. has received two confirmed reports of battery swelling. The risk may be heightened in older units — some of these power banks may be five or more years old, and lithium-ion batteries degrade in stability over time.
What Should You Do?
Stop using the recalled Super Off-Road power bank immediately. Do not charge it or store it near flammable materials. Visit spectorandco.com/us/our-company/recall to register for a full refund in the form of a mailed check. You can also contact Spector & Co. toll-free at 888-377-7732, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, or email [email protected]. Do not throw the power bank in regular household trash, curbside recycling bins, or standard battery recycling boxes — lithium-ion batteries from recalled products require special hazardous waste disposal. Contact your local municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center before bringing in the device to confirm it accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries.
