Why Was This Product Recalled?
FDA and CDC investigators traced the contamination to imported moringa leaf powder used across multiple supplement manufacturers — the same contaminated raw ingredient reaching different finished products explains the breadth of the outbreak. As of May 27, 2026, 119 people across 36 states have been confirmed infected, with 32 hospitalizations. The CDC notes actual case counts are likely higher than confirmed. Washington State health officials also flagged a parallel investigation involving a drug-resistant Salmonella strain that does not respond to standard first-line antibiotics. The FDA’s investigation is ongoing and the recall may expand.
What Should You Do?
Stop taking any moringa supplement if it matches the products and lots listed above. Throw recalled products away or return them to the store for a refund. Wash any surfaces or containers that came into contact with recalled supplements with hot soapy water. For TNVitamins and Doctor’s Pride refunds, complete the form at tnvitamins.com/recall and include a photo of the lot number on the bottom of the bottle, or email [email protected]. If you have experienced fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, or abdominal cramps after taking a moringa supplement, contact your healthcare provider and request a Salmonella stool culture.
