Lidl US is recalling all units of Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Truffle Coating & Apricot Filling after foreign language packaging was discovered that did not contain English ingredients, nutrition facts, or allergen declarations. The recall was announced July 24, 2026, and published by the FDA on July 28, 2026. No illnesses have been reported. The cookies contain wheat, soy, milk, and egg, none of which are declared on the English-language packaging.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recall covers Eridanous Shortbread Cookies with Chocolate Truffle Coating & Apricot Filling, 11.6 oz (330 g), UPC 4056489125839, with a best-before date of 10/11/2026 and lot number 260315, printed on the back of the box. The products were distributed between July 15 and July 22, 2026 to all Lidl US retail store locations in Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia. No other Eridanous or Lidl products are included.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
This recall was initiated after foreign language packaging was discovered that did not contain English ingredients, nutrition facts, or allergen declarations. The cookies contain four of the nine major food allergens — wheat, soy, milk, and egg — that are legally required to be declared in English on any food product sold in the United States. Without English-language labeling, consumers with allergies to any of these ingredients had absolutely no way to identify the risk. For those with wheat, milk, soy, or egg allergies, consuming the product could trigger reactions ranging from hives and digestive distress to life-threatening anaphylaxis.
What Should You Do?
Customers with an allergy or sensitivity to wheat, soy, milk, or eggs should not consume this product. Discard or return the recalled cookies to your nearest Lidl store for a full refund — no receipt is required.
