Youngo Limited has recalled approximately 9,460 Hampton Bay Halwin 52-inch Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fans after the fan blades were found to separate from the fan motor flywheel during operation, posing impact and injury hazards. The recall was announced August 13, 2026. Youngo has received 11 reports of fan blades breaking or separating from the motor flywheel. No injuries have been reported. The fans were sold exclusively at The Home Depot stores nationwide and on HomeDepot.com.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recall covers two model numbers of Hampton Bay Halwin 52-inch Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fans, available in matte black and brushed nickel finishes with adjustable white LED lighting and a remote: model AK396H-MBK (matte black, UPC 840059614922) and model AK396H-BN (brushed nickel, UPC 840059615370). UPCs are on the packaging, rating label, and warranty card. The fans were sold exclusively at The Home Depot nationwide from January 2023 through October 2025 for approximately $180.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The fan blades can separate from the fan motor flywheel during operation. A detaching fan blade at ceiling height can strike anyone below at significant force, posing serious impact and laceration risks. Youngo has received 11 reports of this occurring, though no injuries have been reported.
What Should You Do?
Stop using the recalled Hampton Bay Halwin ceiling fan immediately.
