GigaCloud Technology Recalls 1,250 Merax Murphy Beds Over Frame That Can Fall And Crush Consumers During Assembly

Product recall

GigaCloud Technology USA Inc. is recalling approximately 1,250 Merax full-size and twin-size Murphy beds after the wall bed frame was found to fall onto consumers during assembly or disassembly, posing deadly impact, crush, and laceration hazards. The recall was announced August 13, 2026. Two injuries have been reported: one consumer sustained bruising to the head, neck, and right shoulder, and another sustained a hit to the head with scrapes and bruises on their arms. The beds were sold on Amazon.com, HomeDepot.com, Wayfair.com, Walmart.com, Target.com, Overstock.com, Temu.com, and other websites.

What’s Being Recalled?

Three model numbers of Merax Murphy beds are included, all sold in white and identified by a yellow SKU sticker on the inside of the bed frame:

GX000392AAK (full-size) — SKU codes WF530245, WF530246, WF530247, WF530248
GX000391AAK (twin-size) — SKU codes WF530240, WF530241, WF530242, WF530243
GX000383AAK (full-size) — SKU codes WF324470, WF324471, WF324472

The same product may have been sold by other marketplace sellers under different brand names including Euroco, Harper & Bright Designs, Modern Luxe, and Polibi — the SKU sticker is the definitive identifier. The beds were sold from May 2024 through February 2026 for between $900 and $1,100.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

During assembly or disassembly, the Murphy bed frame can fall onto the consumer if not properly anchored to the wall. The heavy frame poses deadly impact and crush hazards. Two consumers have already been injured in separate incidents involving falling frames.
