A baby lounger sold on Amazon killed a two-month-old infant in 2025 — and the seller has refused to recall the product. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an urgent warning against Fasando-branded baby loungers after a two-month-old was found unresponsive after being placed to sleep in one on top of an adult bed. CPSC has issued a Notice of Violation to Fasando, whose parent company is based in China, but the seller has not agreed to recall the product or offer consumers a remedy.
The Inclined Sleep Crisis
Dozens of baby loungers, rockers, and inclined sleepers remain on the market — many sold through Amazon, Shein, and other online platforms — that violate the mandatory federal Infant Sleep Products standard and the Safe Sleep for Babies Act, which banned inclined sleepers with an angle greater than 10 degrees. These products are soothing and popular with exhausted parents, but CPSC says no inclined product is safe for infant sleep.
Inclined products — including rockers, gliders, soothers, swings, and loungers — can cause positional asphyxia, where an infant’s airway becomes blocked by the position of their own head and neck. Infants lack the muscle strength to reposition themselves. CPSC and its partners have also issued recalls against CooCooBaby, BBWOO, Alinux, YGJT, Vevor, and multiple other baby lounger brands in 2025 and 2026 for the same hazard. Fisher-Price recalled more than 2 million Snuga Infant Swings after 5 deaths were reported.
What You Should Do
- Immediately stop using any baby lounger, infant rocker, bouncer seat, or swing as a sleep surface.
- If your infant falls asleep in a rocker, bouncer, or swing, move them immediately to a firm, flat surface such as a crib, bassinet, or play yard.
- Check SaferProducts.gov for a complete and current list of recalled baby sleep products.
- The only safe infant sleep environment is a firm, flat surface with a fitted sheet and nothing else in the sleeping space.
- Always place infants to sleep on their back.
