Southern Telecom Inc. of Brooklyn, New York, is recalling approximately 48,700 Brookstone-branded Tabletop Fire Pits after the fire pits were found to produce uncontrolled pool fires and flame jetting when burning liquid alcohol — resulting in two confirmed injuries including second-degree and third-degree burns. The recall was announced August 13, 2026. The fire pits were sold at Macy’s, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, and other retailers nationwide.
What’s Being Recalled?
Three Brookstone-branded indoor/outdoor Tabletop Fire Pit models are included — all round or hexagonal concrete open reservoirs designed to hold burning liquid alcohol:
Model BSFIREPIT01 — UPC 680079015930
Model BSFIREPIT02 — UPC 680079015947
Model BSFIREPIT03 — UPC 680079015954
The model number and UPC are on the bottom of the product packaging. The fire pits were sold at Macy’s, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Indoff, iBuy, and Newton Buying Corp. stores nationwide and on Macys.com from February 2023 through December 2024 for between $20 and $25.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
When liquid alcohol fuel is used in the recalled fire pits, flames can burn uncontrollably across the surface of pooled or spilled alcohol, and flame jetting can occur from the fuel containers — sending fire beyond the concrete reservoir and toward nearby surfaces and people. Southern Telecom has received two reports of flame jetting and flames escaping, resulting in injuries including second-degree and third-degree burns requiring medical treatment.
