Individual mangoes can be identified by a light blue sticker with the label “Agrofepac,” “Produce of Mexico,” PLU number 4584, and UPC 07503061948050. No other Panorama Produce products are affected.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The FDA conducted sampling and found Salmonella in mangoes grown on the same farm as the recalled product — though the contaminated samples were from mangoes not distributed into U.S. commerce. Because the recalled mangoes and the sampled mangoes share the same farm source, Panorama Produce initiated this voluntary recall precautionarily. Salmonella can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, and can be fatal in young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals.
What Should You Do?
Check any recently purchased mangoes for a light blue Agrofepac sticker with PLU number 4584. If your mangoes match, do not eat them. Dispose of them or return them to the Walmart store where you purchased them for a full refund.
