Gias Foods Recalls Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine At Walmart Over Possible Listeria Contamination

Product Recall

Gias Foods, Inc. of New York is recalling all lot codes of bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine after routine sampling by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services found the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was announced October 1, 2026. No illnesses have been reported. The product was distributed nationwide at Walmart stores. Gias Foods has ceased all distribution of the product while the FDA and company continue their investigation.

What’s Being Recalled?

The recall covers all lot codes of bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, sold frozen in a 22-ounce yellow plastic bag with UPC 194346442706. Because all lot codes are included, there is no specific date or batch code to check — any package with this UPC purchased at Walmart is part of the recall. No other bettergoods or Gias Foods products are included.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

Routine sampling by two state agriculture departments found the product may contain Listeria monocytogenes, a dangerous bacteria that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections. Listeria can cause fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. In healthy individuals, illness is usually temporary, but in young children, elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems, Listeria can cause life-threatening infections. In pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriage and stillbirth. Because Listeria thrives in refrigerated environments, frozen or chilled products require particular caution — freezing does not kill the bacteria.
