Babies’ Magic Tea Baby Sleep Gripe Water Recalled After FDA Finds Undeclared Alcohols

Product Recall

Pacific Health Sciences is voluntarily recalling one lot of Babies’ Magic Tea Baby Sleep Gripe Water, a dietary supplement marketed for babies. U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) testing found ethanol, methanol, and isopropanol in the product, none of which are listed on the label. The FDA posted the company announcement on October 7, 2026. The gripe water was sold online through Secrets of Tea’s website and Amazon, so parents and caregivers who bought it online are being urged to check their bottles.

What’s Being Recalled?

The recall covers one lot of Babies’ Magic Tea Baby Sleep Gripe Water with lot number 25122bw and a best-before date of 12/2028. The product comes in a 4-fluid-ounce (about 118 mL) amber bottle packed inside a blue cardboard box, with an oral syringe included. The lot number is printed on the bottom of the box and on a side panel of the bottle. The product was distributed to Secrets of Tea, which sold it through online retailers including secretsoftea.com and Amazon.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

FDA testing of this lot found about 8.3% ethanol, 0.35% methanol, and 0.48% isopropanol, and none of these substances were listed on the product label. Ethanol is the type of alcohol found in alcoholic drinks. Methanol and isopropanol are types of alcohol that are not meant to be consumed. The company says these substances may pose a risk depending on how much is consumed and the age and body weight of the person using the product. That is a particular concern for a product intended for infants. To date, Pacific Health Sciences has received no reports of adverse events tied to this lot.

What Should You Do?

Parents and caregivers should stop using any Babies’ Magic Tea Baby Sleep Gripe Water from lot 25122bw right away. Throw the product away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Anyone who experiences symptoms after using the product should seek medical attention and contact Pacific Health Sciences at 310-457-1775 or [email protected], Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific. Reactions can also be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch program at 1-800-332-1088.
