Slade Gorton & Co., Inc. has recalled one lot of Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club stores due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

What’s Being Recalled?

The recall affects lot 3896 of Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon packaged in 2-pound bags. The product was sold exclusively at BJ’s Wholesale Club locations in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia between January 31 and February 7, 2026.

The recalled product features the Wellsley Farms logo and “Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon” on the front of the package. Consumers can identify the affected product by the UPC code (888670025963) and lot number (3896) printed on the back of the bag, below the cooking instructions and Nutrition Facts panel.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

The presence of Listeria monocytogenes was discovered through a random sample collected by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Listeria infection can cause serious health consequences, particularly for pregnant women, who may experience miscarriages or stillbirths.

Healthy individuals infected with Listeria may suffer short-term symptoms including high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. No illnesses have been reported to date related to this recall.

The recall was announced on February 11, 2026, and published by the FDA on February 12, 2026. If you purchased Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon from BJ’s Wholesale Club during the affected timeframe, check the lot number on your package immediately.
