Go Raw Recalls Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried Nuggets After Cat Illness Report

Product Recall

Go Raw LLC has voluntarily recalled a single lot of Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried Nuggets due to dangerously low levels of thiamine (Vitamin B1). The recall was announced on February 17, 2026, and covers one lot distributed to retail stores across 10 states. To date, one cat has become seriously ill and required veterinary treatment after consuming the affected product; the cat has since recovered.

What’s Being Recalled?

The recalled product is Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried Nuggets in a 10 oz. beige zip-lock bag with a purple stripe, UPC 6-91730-18103-1. Only the single lot with lot code C25288 and Best Buy Date 10/15/2027 is affected. The lot code and Best Buy Date are printed on the front of the bag. The recalled product was distributed to retail stores in Colorado, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Michigan, California, Texas, and Illinois.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

Thiamine (Vitamin B1) is an essential nutrient that cats cannot produce on their own and must obtain through their diet. When a cat is fed food containing insufficient thiamine, it can develop thiamine deficiency over time—a serious and potentially life-threatening condition. Early symptoms include decreased appetite, excessive salivation, vomiting, and weight loss. If left untreated, the deficiency can progress to severe neurological symptoms including neck bending toward the floor, mental dullness, vision changes, wobbly walking, circling, falling, and seizures. The recall was triggered after a cat became ill and its veterinarian submitted the product for testing, with results confirming below-required thiamine levels. If treated promptly, thiamine deficiency is typically reversible. Go Raw LLC has implemented corrective actions to prevent this issue from recurring.

What Should You Do?

If you purchased Quest Cat Food Chicken Recipe Freeze Dried Nuggets in a 10 oz. bag, check the lot code and Best Buy Date on the front of the bag immediately. If your bag carries lot code C25288 with a Best Buy Date of 10/15/2027, stop feeding it to your cat right away and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. If your cat has shown any of the symptoms described above, contact your veterinarian immediately.
