What’s Being Recalled?
The recall covers three product names, all model number XR-8801: the Wantefully 2 in 1 Hair Dryer & Styler, the One Step Hair Dryer Brush Straightner, and the Negative Ion Electric Hot Air Blow Dryer Comb. All are black hot air dryer paddle brushes with a striped pink design and brush bristles, with three heat settings. “XRUI” and the model name XR-8801 are printed on the top of the product packaging. The hair dryer brushes were sold exclusively on Amazon.com from February 2026 through March 2026 for approximately $30.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The recalled hair dryer brushes lack an integrated immersion protection device — a safety feature required by federal regulations for all hair dryers sold in the United States. This device is designed to cut power immediately if the hair dryer comes into contact with water, such as if it falls into a sink or bathtub while plugged in. Without this protection, water contact can cause fatal electrocution. Additionally, the recalled brushes can overheat during use, posing a burn hazard. One report of a unit overheating and melting has been received.
