Made Fresh Salads, Inc. of Bay Shore, New York, is recalling all of its Ready to Eat Deli Style Salads and cream cheese products after environmental sampling by the FDA and the company revealed that some areas of the manufacturing facility tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was announced September 6, 2026. No illnesses have been reported. The company has ceased production and distribution. Products were distributed by direct delivery to retail stores and distributors in Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and New York City.
What’s Being Recalled?
Over 60 products sold under the Made Fresh Salads and Northside brand names are included, with expiration dates from September 3 through September 18, 2026, printed on the bottom left of the label. Products include a wide range of deli-style salads — including pasta, seafood, grain, and vegetable salads — as well as over 25 flavors of cream cheese and tofu spreads. Products are sold in 5 lb. and 30 lb. white plastic tubs and half-size aluminum pans, and may have been repacked by retail locations in deli-style packaging with varying labels and codes.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
Environmental testing found Listeria monocytogenes in some areas of the manufacturing facility. Listeria can cause serious illness, particularly in pregnant women, young children, older adults, and immunocompromised individuals. In pregnant women, it can cause miscarriage, stillbirth, and life-threatening infection in the newborn. The company has halted all production while the investigation continues.
