Nara Organics of New York has voluntarily recalled all lots of Nara Organics Powdered Infant Formula currently on the market after the FDA and CDC linked the product to three confirmed cases of infant botulism. The recall was announced June 13, 2026. All three affected infants were hospitalized and treated with BabyBIG (Botulism Immune Globulin Intravenous) in California, Washington, and Pennsylvania. No deaths have been reported. Nara has ceased all distribution.

Why Was This Product Recalled?
The FDA and CDC identified three infants who developed infant botulism after consuming Nara formula from three specific lots: 709125280E14F2, 709125288E14F2, and 708125174E14F2. Infant botulism occurs when Clostridium botulinum spores are ingested and colonize an infant’s immature intestinal tract, producing toxins. It is rare but potentially fatal. Symptoms can include constipation, poor feeding, drooping eyelids, sluggish pupils, low muscle tone, difficulty sucking and swallowing, weak or altered cry, generalized weakness, and respiratory difficulty — which can progress to respiratory arrest. Symptoms may develop gradually and can be easy to miss initially.
