Pacearth Direct of City of Industry, California, is recalling about 110,550 PACEARTH Swing Seats because the seats, metal carabiners or quick links, or webbing straps can break during use, causing users to fall. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall on October 8, 2026. The swing seats were sold exclusively on Amazon.com from May 2017 through June 2026 for between $27 and $57. That means many families may have had one hanging in the backyard for years.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recall involves PACEARTH Swing Seats, a U-shaped style of swing seat. The seats were sold in several colors, including green, blue, pink, red, and turquoise, and the chains are coated in yellow plastic. Each swing came with metal carabiners or quick links and yellow webbing straps used to hang it from an outdoor swing set or a tree branch. The swing seats were sold as a single unit or as a pack of two. The CPSC recall number is 27-019.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The seat itself, the metal carabiners or quick links, or the webbing straps can break while someone is swinging, posing a risk of serious injury from a fall. Pacearth Direct has received at least 30 reports of falls, resulting in at least nine injuries, including fractures, head injuries, and bruising. Swings are often used by children and can reach significant heights mid-swing, so a sudden break can lead to a hard landing.
What Should You Do?
