Why Was This Product Recalled?
PT Organics discovered the issue after its packaging supplier recalled a defective production run of pouches. Internal inspections of finished products confirmed that a small number of pouches contained a strand of soft, food-grade plastic attached to the inside of the packaging. Although the plastic is described as food-grade and soft, any foreign object inside a food pouch marketed to infants and toddlers presents a choking and ingestion hazard. Young children squeeze the pouch contents directly into their mouths, creating a direct exposure path if plastic strands are present. No injuries have been reported.
