Salata Dressings LLC of Houston, Texas, is recalling its Jalapeno Avocado Dressing sold at HEB grocery stores in Texas after the supplier of diced jalapeños used in the product notified the company of potential Salmonella contamination linked to the ongoing multistate jalapeño outbreak. The recall was announced August 11, 2026. No illnesses have been reported.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recall covers Salata Jalapeno Avocado Dressing sold in 12 oz plastic (PET) bottles with a black cap at HEB grocery stores in Texas. The recalled product was sold between July 13 and August 5, 2026. Four best-by dates are included — all printed on the top of the label: 11/05/2026, 11/13/2026, 11/18/2026, and 11/25/2026. The affected product was manufactured using jalapeños received across four lots between July 8 and July 29, 2026.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
Salata Dressings was notified by its diced jalapeño supplier that those jalapeños may be contaminated with Salmonella and possibly associated with the multistate outbreak that the FDA is currently investigating. Upon receiving this notice, the company immediately identified all affected product, ceased distribution, quarantined and destroyed the product, and notified HEB. The jalapeño Salmonella outbreak has sickened 345+ people across 27 states.
