What’s Being Recalled?
The recall covers Bear-Shaped Decorative Refrigerator Magnets with SKU sh2403211731230106, printed on the label of the packaging. The magnets come in sets of 10, 20, or 30 pieces in various colors, packaged in small plastic bags. The sets were sold exclusively on SHEIN.com from May 2025 through February 2026 for between $3 and $4.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The recalled bear-shaped magnets violate the mandatory federal safety standard for magnets because the individual magnets are too powerful for a consumer product. High-powered loose magnets in sets that appeal to children are dangerous because if a child swallows two or more magnets — or a magnet and a metal object — they can attract each other through the walls of the digestive tract. This causes the intestinal tissue between the magnets to be compressed, leading to perforations, twisting, blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning, and in severe cases, death. Emergency surgery is typically required. No injuries have been reported and the recall is preventive.
