ZWILLING Recalls 113,000 ENFINIGY Electric Kettles Sold At Costco And HomeGoods

Product Recall

ZWILLING J.A. Henckels Aktiengesellschaft has recalled approximately 113,440 ENFINIGY 1.5-liter Electric Kettles and Electric Kettle Pros after the handle was found to loosen and detach during use, causing boiling water to spill and posing a serious burn hazard. The recall was announced May 14, 2026. ZWILLING has received 163 reports of handles loosening or separating, including five injuries and one second-degree burn.

What’s Being Recalled?

The recall covers two models of ZWILLING ENFINIGY 1.5-liter stainless-steel electric kettles sold in black, silver, rose gold, and white. The affected model numbers are printed on the bottom of each kettle:

ZWILLING ENFINIGY 1.5-liter Electric Kettle — model numbers 53101-200 and 53101-201. ZWILLING ENFINIGY 1.5-liter Electric Kettle Pro — model numbers 53101-500, 53101-501, 53101-502, 53101-503, and 53101-504.

The kettles were sold at Costco stores and Costco.com from September 2019 through November 2025, at HomeGoods stores nationwide, and online at zwilling.com from December 2019 through February 2026, for between $120 and $200.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

The handle on the recalled kettles can loosen and separate from the body of the kettle during use. When the handle detaches, hot contents — boiling water at or near 212°F — can spill directly onto the user or anyone nearby. ZWILLING has received 163 reports of handles loosening or fully detaching. Five injuries have been confirmed, including one second-degree burn. The defect is in the handle attachment mechanism and cannot be corrected by the consumer. With a retail window spanning 2019 through early 2026 and a premium price point of $120 to $200, these kettles have been in kitchens for years and are likely used daily. The fact that they appear robust and high-quality makes the handle failure particularly unexpected and dangerous.

What Should You Do?

Stop using the recalled ZWILLING ENFINIGY kettle immediately. Unplug it and do not use it again. To receive a full refund, visit ZWILLING‘s website for recall instructions. You will need to unplug the kettle, cut the power cord, and upload a photo of the cut cord before disposal.
